A New MORTAL KOMBAT Movie Is Coming Out In April!

In the past, Mortal Kombat films have a mixed review with some believing them to be bad, others saying that they are decent, and a few revering that they are good. Now, it looks like Warner Bros Pictures and New Line Cinema want to give the franchise another shot since the series had its most successful launch with Mortal Kombat 11. To do this, they are giving us a new story with a new main character, featuring many fighters from the franchise that we all want to see in action, and showing off the action in the official trailer.

The brand new character to enter and star in the Mortal Kombat universe is MMA fighter Cole Young, who is played by Lewis Tan. Cole is unaware of his heritage, and why he is being hunted by Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung’s best warrior, Sub-Zero. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Once he is brought to the temple of Lord Raiden, Cole begins his training with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and rogue mercenary Kano. Soon he will stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe.

Above you will find a video from IGN where the movie director Simon McQuoid shares some secrets from the first trailer. I suggest watching the official trailer first so you can see why you should be hyped for this new movie. Set to release in theaters and on HBO Max this April 16th, we won’t have to wait long to see if this is the film that the Mortal Kombat series deserved from the beginning.
