Appearance Of Old Character In ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD Potentially Hints At Timeline

There's a familiar face appearing in this latest screenshot from The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. A recent picture appearing in Game Informer has revealed none other than Beedle the merchant in the upcoming Nintendo Switch game. For those that don't recognize the character, Beedle has appeared as a merchant in several games in the Legend of Zelda series. His first appearance was on a boat in The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker and the character also made appearances in Spirit Tracks, Minish Cap, Skyward Sword and the Phantom Hourglass

This, as well as the appearance of Rito and the wooden Korok race appear to indicate this game is either a prequel or sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I would not at all be surprised if this game happened to be a prequel, as there was that weird section of the game where you traveled to the past into the kingdom before the world was flooded.  That's just my speculation, though.

The one thing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Wind Waker have in common is a large explorable map, so I'm leaning more and more on the Wind Waker connection the more I think about it. Then again, multiple Ocarina of Time characters appeared in Majora's Mask...so this could mean nothing. It was made pretty clear in that game though that you were in an alternate world. Plus Beedle appearing in Skyward Sword (which is a prequel to the original Legend of Zelda) kind of throws a wrench in this whole thing to begin with. What's your take on this new info? Do you think this game is at all tied to Wind Waker?
