Bethesda Announces PS4 Mods Not Coming To FALLOUT 4 Or SKYRIM Thanks To Sony

After weeks of excuses and basically making it look like they didn't know what they were doing, Bethesda has finally revealed it's Sony's fault the mods for Fallout 4 are not on the console. The developer went public saying that the deal fell through due to Sony being cooperative with the way the mods should work...here's the official statement.

“After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.
“Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive.
“We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.”

After a dominant two years of positive PR, it's kind of crazy to see Sony fall flat on their face twice this week. I've even heard people talking like they may switch to the Xbox next gen, which back at E3 was a laughable suggestion.

Of course, nothing is set in stone and this could always change. I would imagine Sony will do right by this is for no other reason than to stop the hate train. We can hope that anyway, this will be a shot in the guy to Bethesda's loyal fans on the console.
