Bethesda Says THE EVIL WITHIN And RAGE May Have Sold Enough To Get Sequels

Cue Bethesda fans going bonkers. In an interview with Finder Austrailia, spoke to Vice President Pete Hines and asked if The Evil Within and Rage sold well enough to warrant sequels. Both answers were at first met with an emphatic "YES" and then some clarification...

"I can’t talk about the unannounced stuff and what we may or may not do. I get myself in trouble whenever I do that. Even when we were talking about the Morrowind Remaster, if I come out and say, ‘I just don’t think that is going to happen,’ then people freak out. So I won’t confirm or deny stuff we may or may not do, as people jump to the wrong conclusions. But I do think both The Evil Within and Rage did well enough that we could make sequels. Personally I loved Rage and had a ton of fun playing it, but we have a lot of stuff in the pipeline right now so you will have to wait and see."

So could something be in the works right now? My smart money is on The Evil Within over Rage. I don't have any real justification behind that other than The Evil Within received a lot more buzz than Rage in its limelight and, I would imagine, would be easier to develop.

That said a RAGE sequel after 5 years from the first would be pretty cool after seeing the single player Doom experience...

From the way Hines name dropped the Morrowind remaster in his statement, it makes me think he's hinting that one of those two games are already in some form of development. Does anyone else get that vibe?
