Battle Royale for Those Who Hate.. Battle Royale
Look, ever since PUBG, Fortnite, and countless clones have entered the scene, gaming has not been the same. It’s debatable whether it’s pushed gaming towards turn better or worse days but regardless of where you stand, it’s uber popular and I dare say CALL OF DUTY: WARZONE could be the best entry yet.
Split between two modes that are vastly different from each other, Battle Royale is a standard fare yet packed with 150 players spread across a huge map. While the action can be quite spread out in the beginning minutes, the ending moments are pure chaos and an absolute blast. While collecting cash and loot, you can revive fallen teammates but if they are wiped out, you can buy them back as a revive at buy stations. While you waiting, you fight in a gulag deathmatch that makes those downtimes not so boring like most Battle Royale options out there.
The second and much more interesting mode, is plunder. While you get to respawn, unlike the traditional BR modes, you main goal in plunder is to collect and extract as much cash as humanly possible. While this sounds simple, it’s anything but that. Heli extraction pads can become warzones extremely quick and the top cash holders, are marked on the map after the first few minutes of the 30 minute round. IMHO, Plunder is the most interest twist of the BR idea since inception.
Whether you’re looking for a traditional BR experience or something new with Plunder mode, you can’t go wrong with Warzone. The fact that it’s polished (not perfect), free, and crossplay works on all modes between PC, PS4, and XBONE, it’s currently my fave shooter. Check out more info at the main Warzone site.
