DIGIMON STORY CYBER SLEUTH Trailer Brings Monsters to the Real World

Bandai Namco Entertainment released their first trailer for their new title, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth which is coming to the PS4 and PS Vita on February 2nd, 2015. The story revolves around a teenage boy or girl (your choice) who is part of the discovery of Digimon, monsters that exist in a digital space born inside the computer. When things start going awry and Digimon are being used to infiltrate sensitive information online, a detective who apparently can't figure out how a shirt works joins up with the teenager to help stop the chaos. Eventually, in classic anime fashion, things begin escalating to the point where the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

The story and design style remind me a lot of one of my favorite anime films, Summer Wars by Mamoru Hosoda. The clean white with the bright colorful accents look like they jumped right out of that film and into the game. I'll be interested to see how it turns out, as it looks like it could be a fun free-roam RPG romp through Digimon's version of cyberspace.

Set in the near future, the line between the real and digital worlds is blurred. Logging into cyberspace is part of everyday life. A harmless on-line chat spawns a chance encounter with a mysterious hacker for one teenager. Little did this teen know, this brief meeting would lead to a monumental adventure.
