Fan Film METROID: THE SKY CALLS Will Make You Want a Feature Length Version

The fan-film masterminds over at Rainfall Films have made a lot of really top notch shorts. This group that made the definitive April Fools Day Legend of Zelda trailer years ago is now back with another Nintendo inspired project. Metroid: The Sky Calls follows intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran (played by the Nerdist's Jessica Chobot) on a journey to answer a mysterious distress beacon left behind by the Chozo. The film has a very retro sci-fi feel, complete with a digital film grain filter over it which can be a little bit distracting in certain shots, but mostly because it takes away from the beauty of this incredibly well made short.

Rainfall Films and director Sam Balcomb present a live action short set in the Metroid universe, starring Jessica Chobot (Nerdist) and America Young (Halo 5).
