Back on the trusty ol' PS2, Fatal Frame was one of those games that was guaranteed to scare the ever-loving crap out of me. I'm pretty sure my very soul dumped its drawers playing that game. So to hear Nintendo is reviving the franchise on the Wii U brings me great, sadistic joy. A trailer for Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water released yesterday, and as described by Nintendo themselves, it's "extremely spoopy!" While the graphics do seem a bit dated, especially in comparison to most modern horror titles like P.T. and Until Dawn, I still have high hopes for a game that seems like it was made for the Wii U gamepad.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will be available from the Nintendo eShop on October 22nd. They will be offering a "free to start" option along with the full release, which is an interesting approach.
