First Trailer for THE PARK, an Interesting New Horror Game

Psychological horror is a genre of game that has been hard to perfect. It's a struggle to affect players on a deep enough level to truly mess with their heads. The fear has to go beyond jump scares and into an eerie and unsettling place and the characters have to be so well developed that the player will want to inhabit their skin. The trailer, from studio Funcom, shows signs that their new game, The Park could achieve what so few other horror games do . You play as a struggling single mother trying to find her lost child in an abandoned theme park that was shut down after a slew of deadly misfortunes. The development team aims to use the player character's voice and mannerisms to instill a sense of dread into the player. The game seems promising and I look forward to getting my hands on the game later this month.

'The Park' puts players into the shoes of Lorraine, a mother whose son goes missing in a mysterious and creepy theme park. When night falls and the lights go out, you must face an emotional and terrifying journey through an amusement park where a dark and sinister secret is just waiting to be uncovered.
