My Arcade Is Bringing New Goods To CES 2020!

My Arcade has come to CES 2020 with a slew of new goodies in tow! Thanks to a new partnership with Capcom, My Arcade has revealed a new Street Fighter II Micro Player mini arcade cabinet. This guy is a little bigger than the traditional My Arcade Micro Player as it features the traditional 6 button design you would expect from a fighting game cabinet. Artwork for the unit is also inspired by the Street Fighter II Champion Edition version of the game and looks super nostalgic. The Street Fighter II Micro Player is utilizing My Arcade’s CO-VS link cable tech so owners of multiple units will be able to enjoy 2 player fights! Unfortunately, I am not attending CES this year to go hands-on with the device to see exactly which version of the game is being run or how the screen handles compared to other My Arcade offerings. The Street Fighter II Micro Player will retail for $49.99 when it comes out later this year.

The next highlight of My Arcades CES showcase is the Super Retro Champ. This device is essentially a portable SNES and Sega Genesis allowing for games from any region to be played on it! The Super Retro Champ has built-in controls for one player use or can be paired with wireless controllers for multiplayer sessions. Multiplayer can be done either directly on the devices built-in 7-inch screen or on your TV using an HDMI out port on the back of the device. The built-in screen looks to be a 16:9 display so it will be cool to see if My Arcade implements different display options. Battery life for the device is also stated to be around 5 hours per charge which fits right in line with other portable devices that play off of real cartridges. As an awesome bonus, the Super Retro Champ will have a cartridge cleaning kit built in so you can make sure your older games are able to be read properly. No release date has been set for the Super Retro Champ but it will cost $109.99 upon release.

Both devices look quite premium in their presentation and I honestly can’t wait to try them out to see how they fare. What do you think of these 2 new devices?
