Playstation VR Details Revealed And DRIVECLUB VR Announced As Launch Title

Details of the Playstation VR have been released thanks to the Playstation Asia website. The peripheral, which releases October 13th, will launch at $399 to users. It is not suggested that children under the age of 12 use the peripheral and that users sit down while using the device. The latter of those two statements is kind of a bummer as I was hoping to jump around while playing, but have seen enough videos to know it's probably for the best that I sit.

If you plan on purchasing the PSVR you at least need the Playstation Camera for it to function, and some other games may require Playstation Move controls. Sucks that you got rid of those a while back right?

As far as gaming with friends, there will be two options of broadcasting to your television screen. Mirror mode will show family and friends what you are seeing and "separate" mode will allow you to play via headset while other players can play competitively or cooperatively on the television.

While 3D immersion is possible, players can also opt to use the "cinematic" mode to make it appear as though they are playing or watching on a gigantic screen. Players can also use the technology to watch 360 videos or view pictures.

Finally, it looks like Driveclub VR will be made available on launch day for users to play. Not the sexiest of options but there you go.

I'm not wholly convinced that VR is at a point where I'm ready to drop that much cash to play on it so I'll hold off on getting this thing right out of the gate. What about you?
