More changes are coming to Pokémon GO and the next big change is supposed to bring improvements to gym battles. If you've ever thought that defending your team's gym while it's being attacked is the epitome of an exercise in futility this update may be a welcome change.
According to Niantic you will now be able to bring a full team of six Pokémon to battle friendly gyms and raise that gym's level, and not just that but the CP of Pokémon in these gyms will be lowered to match that of your own teams', so next time you're being attacked you'll at least have a fighting chance.
The question remains, however, how much will defeating a friendly Pokémon contribute to defense points compared to the points lost when they're defeated by a rival team.
