POKEMON QUEST Is Now Available On The Switch

Yesterday, Nintendo released a new Pokémon Game for the Switch called Pokémon Quest. So far, the newly released title is vastly different from traditional releases as it sports a Minecraft-style graphics. The game was revealed during a press conference that was held in Nintendo’s home country of Japan.

Pokémon Quest is an action game that takes place in a world called Tumblecube Island, where several Pokémon can be seen roaming around for treasure, food, and friendly battles. Players can set up base camps, which they can customize to attract new Pokémon to add to their collection. Trainers will be able to take three sets of Pokémon for battle. However, combat in this game will not be implementing the turn-based combat of traditional games. Instead, players can control their monsters by tapping attack meters once they reach a certain level.

These “Pokéxel” creatures, as named by Game Freak, features classic Pokémon such as Pikachu, Charmander, Blastoise and the rest of the first-gen monsters. If you’re looking for more familiar gameplay, this new game may not be for you. However, Nintendo also announced yesterday that two new titles will also be heading to the Switch this November. Dubbed as Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, the upcoming games are inspired by Pokémon Yellow and will introduce new gameplay mechanics.
