RAZER LEVIATHAN V2 REVIEW: Small Footprint With Massive Sound

Razer is back with the Leviathan V2 and some absolutely massive sound in an impressively small package. We put this beast to the the test and walked away very impressed. Check out our no-frills review and see if this PC/Bluetooth Soundbar is for you.

What’s In The Box

At first glance the Razer Leviathan V2 is impressive. The box and packaging are sleek, slick, and incredibly good looking. The basics are all here: The soundbar itself, a relatively tiny subwoofer, USB-C to USB cable, power cable, etc. Also a quick start guide is including showing you the basic steps to getting this set up on your PC.

Aesthetics and Build Quality

Like the packaging, everything screams absolute quality with the Leviathan V2. To be totally honest, when I pulled the tiny subwoofer from the box, I wasn’t expecting much. Also, the soundbar itself is quite lean and lightweight though sturdy and solidly built. Even though everything looks absolutely refined and quite gorgeous, the weight alone had me skeptical about actual performance.

Either way, there is no doubting this is a minimalistic design but it is quite the beauty to behold. For those with limited desk space, this is the droid you’ve been looking for. When powered on the subtle default RBG lighting, Razer and THX logos look dope and seals the deal on one of the best looking soundbars on the market today.

Specs and Special Features

The specs are pretty basic but the standouts are the THX Spatial Audio that does improve the virtual surround sound indeed, especially in gaming and movies, the sound is already stunning out of the box. More on that later but the other included features in the Leviathan V2 are the solid Razer app integration, THX, RBG lighting, and easy Bluetooth connectivity. Sadly, USB and Bluetooth are the only connectivity options for the V2. Now, this is advertised as a PC soundbar so, it does exactly that with some Bluetooth options for Switch. I tried to plug it into the PS5 but alas, no connectivity was made which is a shame.

Gameplay

Now, for the real meat and potatoes of any audio product: the performance. Defying all odds with its tiny footprint, the Leviathan V2 absolutely nails it with thundering, quality audio that fills your ears and the entire room for that matter. Seriously, after testing dozens of speakers, soundbars, and audio products over the years, I can’t believe Razer was able to pull this off with such a compact and lightweight design. Every heart-pounding big boss fight moment in Elden Ring to the subtle raindrops in the gorgeous landscapes of Death Stranding Director’s Cut was equally impressive. I had to pause several times to actually believe what I was hearing from this unit. It is absolutely stunning in every way.

If I could score the V2 of sound quality and performance alone, this would easily be a 10/10 review. It is that good to master the bombastic moments equally as well as the subtle details that are so important in sound design in games today.

What It Could Have Done Better

There isn’t much I can complain about besides the lack of ports and connectivity options but also, as mentioned, this is advertised as a PC gaming soundbar and that is done quite flawlessly but it would have been advantageous and quite easy to add some HDMI, optical, or at least a stereo aux port for more flexibility. Also, having to create an account to use the THX features is a drag.

Verdict

In the end, I absolutely love the V2. It is one of the highest quality PC gaming audio devices I’ve ever had the honor of testing, especially for such a compact and sleek design. While the lack of connectivity options brought the score down a bit, you will absolutely love it connected to your PC or any Bluetooth device. Trust me, this is one beautiful yet thundering beast.
