The third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy (9th overall in what is now being called the Skywalker Saga) , the most recent Star Wars film — Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — officially opened worldwide after a soft release on Thursday. Rise of Skywalker sets out to conclude the overarching storyline of the previous 8 main installments and bring the closure to Luke and Anakin Skywalker’s lineage.
The previous Star Wars films under Disney have received mixed reviews but have been successful at the box office, with the exception of the Star Wars Anthology film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
