Sony Clarifies That Email Promoting STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT II PS VR Compatibility Is Incorrect

An image from a promotional Sony email about upcoming PS4 games has been circulating around the net due to its implicit confirmation of PS VR compatibility for EA's heavily anticipated Star Wars: Battlefront II.

Shortly after this news began to gain some traction and started stirring some speculation Sony has now officially come forward to comment on the matter:

We are aware that a recent PlayStation promotional email indicated that Star Wars: Battlefront II will be PS VR compatible. This email was incorrect and we apologise for any confusion caused.

While there is PS VR gameplay available as downloadable content for Star Wars Battlefront (released in 2015), nothing has been announced regarding PS VR support for Star Wars Battlefront II.

While this statement doesn't deny or bear any real impact on the possibility of upcoming PS VR content for Battlefront II it does indicate that if there is some, EA is not ready to announce it, which is actually perfectly in line with EA's ambiguity regarding other aspects of the future and business model for Battlefront II such as DLC, ongoing support, and the abolishment of the Season Pass

Star Wars: Battlefront II will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17, 2017.
