Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the upcoming sequel to the game of the same name that will be released soon for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The game’s producers, Noriyoshi Fujimoto, and Takuma Shiraishi were recently featured in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, and talked about the recent progress in the game’s development.

First off, the producers of the game are well aware of the request of numerous fans to include a multiplayer mode in the game. Fujimoto and Shiraishi addressed this concern by saying that they are looking into a feature that will let players play with each other, however, both developers also mentioned that it is too early to reveal something concrete. Even though the producers did not confirm anything, at least we know the fact that they are looking into it so the chances of having some sort of a multiplayer mode are rather high.

Furthermore, the developers confirmed that Dragon Quest Builders 2, will allow players to build three times higher than the limit of its predecessor and that there are plans to implement a save transfer system, which will enable players to import their profile from the first game to the new one. This feature will be available to both the Switch and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.

Lastly, Fujimoto and Shiraishi admitted that the current development of the game is going through a process of trial and error, and that updating the game engine is causing some delay to the game’s overall design phase. Although the information released was rather limited, at least we can take two things from this, first is that the developers are well aware of what players would want to see in this game, and second, that they are trying their best to develop the game to its best version. So the features we want may or may not be included in the final version, the only thing to do at this point is wait for further information.
