Starladder Announces $10k Female CS:GO Tourney

Gosugamers reports the women of CS:GO will have their own chance to compete for glory in their upcoming $10k tournament. The tournament kicks off tomorrow with two divisions being announced Europe and CIS. Teams like Heaven, StarryGame, and DOYOUEVEN are set to attend. The finals will happen around the first week of July.

While I'm all for putting a spotlight on the female gaming community, why are we segregating now? In a sport that emphasizes no physical advantage, it seems dumb to separate the men from the women. I know statistically it's been shown the girls have competed at a lower level, but honestly, I think that's more a numbers thing than anything. What's your take?
