Out of all the games that have and haven’t com to the Nintendo Switch, Trading Card Games have been in short supply. PlayFusion and Games Workshop are now set to change that with the release of there popular and ever growing free to play TCG Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions to Nintendo’s hybrid console! Players can choose to play as 1 of 4 warring factions from the Warhammer universe and can play in both online and offline battles. Cross play is also available between the PC, mobile and Switch versions.

The drums of battle draw closer, the smell of blood is in the air, the desire for conflict is strong, the need for glory is irresistible. The armies of the Grand Alliances have gathered and are ready to test their might against their adversaries.

A new single player game mode is also being introduced for the Switch release called Realm Trials which promises hours of content as players will battle to conquer the mortal realms! Several additional game modes are also available including Arena of Echoes, Ranked and casual play. There are also leaderboards and daily challenges to keep you coming back for more. If you happen to play the physical card game you will also be able to scan in any cards you own physically to add to your ever growing digital library of cards.

The response for the physical and digital game has already been incredible, and we just can’t wait to watch that grow to new heights,” said Mark Gehard, CEO and Co-Founder of PlayFusion. “ With the upcoming release of our Set 3 cards in Savagery, and a whole heap of new features like Arena of Echoes and Realm Trials, there’s always going to be something new to try. And now, there will be a much bigger community to try with”

Having played the game for the first time over the last couple of days I found it very easy to get a grasp of the basics which is a great thing when it comes to a TCG. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions has really scratched that itch in the Switches library I am not sure many are realizing has been missing. With the ability to play on the TV and on the go I don’t think a card game has really been more versatile and that’s not including having access to your own physical collection to use in the game, if you have them. While I am still getting a hang of all the advanced strategies involved, my time with Champions has been a blast!
