Will STAR WARS: BOUNTY HUNTER Ever Get Re-Released For Xbox And Switch?

Back in my youth, Star Wars games were more than plentiful. Between the Rogue Squadrons, Battlefronts, and Lego games, I was a very happy kid, to say the least. With the brand new series The Book of Boba Fett debuting on Disney+ today, it has me thinking about one of my favorites to play, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.

Being able to take on the mantle of one of the galaxy’s best and baddest bounty hunters, Jango Fett, was a dream come true. It was a game that featured a unique story that managed to give depth to the father of the Republic clone army, as well as tie in exactly what Count Dooku was up to going into Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

The gameplay wasn’t shabby either, as it felt truly unique to itself with fun gadgets that Jango used in the film as well as some platforming segments that are still unforgettable to this day. Its enemies were iconic and even its various locations were just so awesome to traverse. Who doesn’t want to chase bounties down around the strips of Coruscant?

The game had been treated to a sort of re-release on the PS4 back in 2015 with the launch of EA’s Star Wars Battlefront (2015), giving a new generation the chance to play the game with some slight remastered aspects. And while I’d honestly have loved to see the game be given even more love with a full remake, launching it on new hardware to preserve the game at all is a reward.

My one complaint about the re-release though is that it never made its way onto any other gaming platforms. Xbox, Switch, and even PC are still without Jango’s presence and it’s pretty blasphemous, to put it lightly. This is a title that really needs to stretch its arms and fully sprint again.

I honestly feel that with the releases of many old SW games on new hardware lately, Bounty Hunter shouldn’t be far behind. But with no murmurs or signals being thrown around, it’s hard not to be a little anxious to finally hear something.

Here’s hoping that Aspyr sees this piece and maybe gives some clarity on whether we can expect to jump back into Jango’s boots and become the father of the clone army yet again. Until then, I’ll have my fingers crossed.
