Keen Games has shared a new video on its upcoming survival action RPG Enshrouded ahead of its Early Access release on Steam later his year.

Enshrouded is an action RPG with survival and building mechanics, set in the land of Embervale which has been blighted by a terrible crisis.

The video goes over the start of a playthrough, showing a player character building his first crafting stations and house in a vibrant 3D world. With a base set up, the player character then heads out into the wilderness, towards more dangerous areas in pursuit of greater rewards.

One of Enshrouded's unique points is The Shroud, a deadly fog that blankets most of the land. Standing in the Shroud for too long is deadly, bbut a lot of what the player needs to find is inside the pockets of fog.

What this means, is many of the quests will be against the clock as the player character tries to advance deep into the dangerous areas and do what needs to be done before the timer runs down and claims another victim.

There are good reasons to enter the deadly miasma though, as there players can find ways to recruit new NPCs for their fledgeling settlement, or rare and valuable crafting materials from bosses.

Enshrouded is available to wishlist now for PC on Steam, with plans to release into Steam Early Access before the end of the year.
