AGE OF EMPIRES 3: DEFINITIVE EDITION Is Getting A Beta Next Month!
Age of Empires 3 is a game that I have played quite a bit in the last 10 years. Often we would get multiplayer sessions going between my wife, brother and I to go head to head or just bot stomp. Despite being the worst received entry in the series I loved it and I am excited to hear that Microsoft hasn’t forgotten it on its march to remaster all the old Age of Empire titles. Age of Empires 1 and 2 have both received their definitive editions and soon 3 will follow with new closed betas planned for the title starting next month! Betas will focus mainly on the multiplayer aspect of the game to ensure it runs correctly. Smaller Betas will also take place to test the campaign in the coming months. If you are interested in participating in these betas you can sign-up on the Age of Empires website. The following system specs are required.
Windows 10 64-bit
8GB RAM
2GB video memory
DX11 / D3D11
HD Graphics 4400 or more if using integrated Graphics
As with all of Microsofts insider Betas, getting signed up doesn’t give you immediate access to the first beta. As testing continues more and more users begin to be accepted so don’t worry if you have to wait a month or so.
I am excited to see what an Age of Empires 3 remaster looks like since the game is built in a 3D engine and came out for Windows 7 and is still compatible with all current PC’s. I expect massive improvements to lighting and model details but otherwise, I don’t really know what else needs to be changed. What do you hope to see in Age of Empires 3 Definitive Edition?
