ALIENS: FIRETEAM Is Coming To Put The Fear OF The Galaxy In You
The Alien franchise is back in the gaming industry yet again! This time, it’s taking its shot at the 4-player co-op genre that’s been tied to series’ such as Left 4 Dead and Zombie Army. The game is called Aliens: Fireteam and releases this summer. While it’s not clear how this game directly connects to any of the films or games of the franchise, it’s sure to be a wild ride. And I’m sure it’ll be a lot better than Aliens: Colonial Marines too.
What we know so far: The story is set around a group of Colonial Marines stationed aboard the USS Endeavor. It takes place 23 years after the original 3 films of the series and these characters will play a pivotal role in pushing the story forward. You’ll be able to choose from the 5 playable classes that include, a Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc, and Recon. Each one has its own set of special abilities and perks. You can customize them as well with over 30 weapons and 70 mods/attachments.
Having your character at their best is a must if you want to survive against the 20 different enemy types within the game. That includes 11 different Xenomoporhs on the scale of evolution from Facehuggers to Praetorians, yikes! The devs at Cold Iron Studios have also made sure that their AI is extremely good at what it does to try outsmarting players and ambush them whenever they can. I love these co-op shooters and personally can’t wait to get my hands on one that involves the Xenomorphs!
Aliens: Fireteam releases this summer on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
