BrainLeap Technologies Aims To Make Attention Training The Norm With ATTENTION ARCADE

BrainLeap Technologies has been hard at work in their attempt to help kids with attention problems. Their new gaming platform Attention Arcade uses eye-tracking movements to help these kids improve and strengthen their focus. Through research, it had been found that eye movement and attention are linked together in brain activity. So they decided to use games, to lock in on a new method of attention training.

The research for Attention Arcade was funded by The National Institute of Health, and a clinical trial of the program had run with some pretty interesting results. It included individuals of a specific age starting at 9 years old and ending at 25 years old. All of the participants who completed the study showed improvement in at least one measure of attention. Their results say that “On average, there was a 68% improvement in fast and accurate shifts of attention (Etask), a 55% improvement in inhibitory control (anti-saccade), and a 30% improvement in focus (NICHQ)”.

Attention Arcade offers 6 games that sharpen different aspects of children’s attention and focus.

The games included are :

  • Mr. Mole and Mr. Hide

  • Shroomdigger

  • Space Race

  • Kung Fall

  • Butterfly Bob

  • Trapped-A-Zoid

The Attention Arcade can be purchased directly at BrainLeap’s website. The price is $39 a month which includes just the game software for PC. If you’d like the required eye-tracker included, it’s bumped up to $49 a month. You can purchase the eye-tracker to keep. It can be found on Amazon. It’s amazing to see the ever-growing use of games to better peoples’ lives. I can’t wait to see how Attention Arcade takes off and the future of possibilities in gaming.
