Catch Up on Every Nintendo Direct E3 Announcement
To our disappointment, Nintendo did not reveal new hardware upgrades or consoles at their E3 showcase. However, that didn’t ruin what was otherwise a great showing of new trailers and plenty of upcoming games!
As for the specific games and announcements that were shown during their nearly 40-minute live stream, here’s the list of everything we gleaned from the 2021 E3 Nintendo Direct presentation:
Kazuya Mishima has been added as a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. This is in addition to other DLC characters you can play via the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 collection.
Worms Rumble was given a trailer and announced for a June 23rd release.
Astria Ascending, the highly anticipated JRPG, was announced to arrive on Switch on September 30th.
Two Point Campus is releasing sometime in 2022. This new sim game is a sequel to Two Point Hospital.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a remaster collection releasing October 5th.
Mario Party Superstars was announced and slated for an October 29th release.
Cruis’n Blast is coming to Switch consoles later this fall, featuring nearly 30 playable tracks and 23 different vehicle options.
Mario Golf: Super Rush is arriving June 25th and free updates, including new courses and playable characters, are expected after the game’s release.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has a free demo arriving on June 25th and the game is set to launch on July 9th.
WarioWare: Get It Together! was announced and is set to arrive on September 10th. The game promises to have a vast array of microgames and allows for two players to share the same screen.
Shin Megami Tensei V showed off a new trailer and is coming to Switch exclusively on November 12th. Preorders will be available on June 21st.
Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp was shown and its anticipated launch date is later this year. Danganronpa Decadence is also inbound, as an anniversary collection of three other classic games from the series.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is being ported (and improved!) from Wii U and will be available on Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later this year.
Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part One is now available on Switch consoles.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, fully remastered in HD, is coming to Switch on June 25th.
Strange Brigade is surprised fans with a reveal of its port to Switch. Effective immediately, it is now available on Switch consoles.
Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp is coming to Switch on December 3rd. It will feature a remaster of both Advance War games that originally released on Game Boy Advance.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass was detailed, containing two waves of DLC. The first will arrive on June 18th and the second will be available sometime in November.
Metroid Dread, a direct sequel to 2002’s Metroid Fusion, is arriving October 8th. The first 2D Metroid game with a new story in 19 years!
Legend of Zelda “Game & Watch” was announced, featuring a retro-inspired all-in-one device with The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The playable digital clock device will release on November 12th.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD was given a gameplay new trailer and is set to launch on Switch consoles on July 16th.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope was shown again, after first being revealed at Ubisoft Forward E3 conference. This game is coming to Switch sometime in 2022.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 received a new trailer and Nintendo announced it’s coming sometime in 2022.
Just Dance 2022 was shown in a new trailer. The game is set to release on November 4th.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set is being ported to Switch consoles on September 24th.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version was a sneaky surprise! The game was revealed earlier during Square Enix’s E3 conference, but purposely withheld information about the game’s release on Switch Consoles. To Nintendo fans’ delight, the game will be available via the cloud on October 26th.
Life is Strange Remastered Collection was announced for Switch consoles, featuring Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm. This collection will be available later this year. In addition, Life is Strange: True Colors was shown and detailed to arrive on Switch on September 10th.
This year’s E3 Nintendo Direct was followed by a Nintendo Treehouse stream, which is essentially a 4 hour long deep dive into their upcoming games. If that interests you, be sure to check it out!
