Enjoy At Least Six Jokes As The DARKSIDE DETECTIVE Series Lands On The Atari VCS
Naturally, the next step for the most modernized retro console to hit the market would be to start adding some newer games that fit the retro style. Bringing a new series of comical mysteries to the Atari VCS platform is Akupara Games as they release Spooky Doorway’s Darkside Detective series! Even Atari is inviting players and would-be detectives to dig into the Atari VCS Store to take on all manner of macabre mysteries in the misfortune-prone community of Twin Lakes.
Both titles, The Darkside Detective and Darkside Detective: A Fumble In The Dark, feature a unique point-and-click puzzle-filled adventure. Player’s will be investigating the city’s many strange, often paranormal, and always paradoxical goings-on. If this is the first time you have heard of this series, you can check out this interview I held with the developer as they were wrapping up the first game’s development.
This series key features include:
15 unique standalone cases between both games
Pointing AND clicking technology
Music from Thomas O'Boyle, a totally-living composer, definitely not undead, and Ben Prunty, the audiomancer behind gems such as Into the Breach, Subnautica, and FTL
Photo-Realistic* Pixel Rendering (*Depends on your definition of photo-realism)
