FALLOUT 4 Director Admits Dialogue System Isn't Great
There are many successes in the new things Fallout 4 attempted. The dialogue system was not one of them. Now, Gamespot reports creative director Todd Howard agrees with fans. In regards to the misstep, he had this to say...
“We do like to try new things and we have some successes. I think the shooting in Fallout 4 is really good – I think it plays really well,” said Howard. “Obviously the way we did some dialogue stuff, that didn’t work as well. But I know the reasons we tried that – to make a nice interactive conversation – but [it was] less successful than some other things in the game. For us, we take that feedback, and I think long term.”
Less successful is an understatement. One of the best parts of Fallout was picking dialogue options that suited your personality and seeing how it affected your relationship with someone in the game! I don't want "aggressive" or "friendly" without knowing exactly what I'm going to say. At least Bethesda isn't being dicks and blocking the dialogue mods that make it more similar to past games!
