FALLOUT 76 Won't Have Cross-Console Play And Bethesda Is Blaming Sony's Lack Of Cooperation

Last June, Bethesda revealed the latest installment in the Fallout series dubbed as Fallout 76 during the E3 2018 conference. Bethesda shared to players that the upcoming title will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Unfortunately, the game’s director announced that the game would not support cross-play and this is all thanks to Sony.

Todd Howard spoke to GameStar.de (via CNET) and said that “you cannot do cross-play in 76," said Howard. "We'd really love that but right now we can't. Sony is not as helpful as everyone would like."

This situation is not the first time that Sony made headlines as they continuously refuse to introduce cross-play support that is present in most of their competitors. In fact, after the announcement of Epic Games to launch Fortnite on the Switch, fans on the PlayStation 4 were furious after finding out that their Fortnite accounts on the PS4 cannot be used to log in on the Switch version of the game. Moreover Sony’s fiercest competitors, Nintendo and Microsoft were quick to take advantage of the backlash Sony is facing by partnering together and rubbing Sony’s face with their cross-play enabled version of Minecraft.
