FINAL FANTASY Crystal Chronicles Remaster Announced For The Switch And PS4
Square Enix announced today that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, which was initially released to the GameCube back in 2003, is being remastered for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
A short trailer for the remaster debuted at the PlayStation Lineup Tour, which is a pre-Tokyo Game Show event. The original GameCube version of the game featured a hack and slash mechanics that had buttons assigned to perform specific moves. Crystal Chronicles was also popular due to the vast array of puzzles that players must solve to progress in the game.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles puts players in control of a group of adventurers who are on a mission to extract “myrrh” from rare trees to save the world from Miasma. The original game also featured a local multiplayer that was made possible by connecting Game Boy Advances via a link cable. Of course, the remaster is expected to replace this mechanic with online connectivity.
Currently, no specific release date was announced, but Square Enix revealed that the remaster of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will release sometime in 2019.
