First Impressions - DAYS GONE is Like SONS OF ANARCHY Meets Zombie Insanity - E3 2016
Days Gone is one of the more impressive looking video games that I've come across at E3 so far. This game is absolutely batshit crazy. I'm a huge fan of both Sons of Anarchy and Zombies and this game is like a mixture of the two.
The game is a third-person shooter being developed by Bend Studio and it's an open-world environment that follows a drifter and bounty hunter named Deacon St. John, who looks like he's from a biker gang who is forced to survive in a post-apocalyptic zombie-like world.
The story is set two years after a global pandemic has killed almost everyone, and millions of others were turned into what are called Freakers – "mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human but very much alive and quickly evolving."
At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love – and hope. It’s about how even when confronted with such enormous tragedy they find a reason to live. Hope never dies.
This is a beautifully made game that is awesomely brutal! I've included a trailer and a gameplay demo for the game for you to watch below, and those will give you a little of the insanity that this game has to offer.
There are soooooooooo many zombies! The demo embed below features Deacon as he's trying to outrun and escape a horde of hundred upon hundreds of zombies, and these things are rabid coming at him fast! To survive the player really has to be paying attention and be aware of his surroundings.
This game is going to be an absolute blast to play and it's one that I'll definitely be buying when it's eventually released.
