First Major Update Out Now For CROSSFIREX Includes New Maps And Fixes

Smilegate Entertainment launched CrossfireX last month and the game was met with less than favorable reception. The free-to-play first-person shooter had a lot of potential, especially with the involvement of Remedy Entertainment for the single-player expansions of the game. Unfortunately, the game was ridden with clunky controls and performance issues on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Smilegate Entertainment is taking the criticism seriously and starting to move CrossfireX in the right direction by introducing it’s first major patch.

The new patch not only includes fixes and refinements, but also a wealth of new in-game content. Players can expect to see new maps, weapons, and silencer parts. The patch also contains more options for the aim sensitivity as well as various other gameplay tweaks.

The full list of improvements and fixes can be found in the patch notes here. Below is a summary of the most significant content updates:

Gameplay improvements, balance changes and bug fixes

  • Refinements made to controller sensitivity and aim assist settings.

  • About 80 bug fixes implemented. Crucial bugs that were squashed are detailed in the patch notes.

New Spectre Mode Map (Classic)

  • Face off against a team of Spectres in this new Event Map that pits teams face-to-face in a ruined city.

New Team Deathmatch Map (Classic)

  • Put your knife skills to the test in this melee-only team deathmatch style mode that takes place within a sinking submarine.

New Content

  • New weapons and silencer parts have been added.

  • A new Event Battle Pass has been added to let players earn GP and CFP for free. This will be provided to all players automatically.

Lobby and in-game UX improvement

  • Players can now easily navigate through all menus using the D-pad instead of a mouse style cursor.

  • Weapon statistics comparison: To aid with the weapon selection, a new UI component allows players to see and compare weapon stats and view how their bullet spray patterns work in both Classic and Modern modes.

Smilegate Entertainment is showing that they are dedicated to improving the game and taking all of the player’s feedback into consideration. Hopefully, this patch can help rekindle the excitement surrounding the game and satisfy current fans that may have been slightly underwhelmed at launch.

CrossfireX is available now to play for free on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
