First SKATER XL eSport Event Takes Place Today!
The virtual skateboarding simulator from Easy Day Studios has come a long way since it was first released in 2020 with positive reviews. Today, Skater XL is going to host its first-ever eSports event and it can all be watched live on Twitch via StillMilky. It all starts later today, at 12 pm PT / 3 pm ET, so don’t wait or you’ll be watching a recorded version later!
The event is being called ‘The FakeSkate Open Live Contest’ and their 24 qualifiers (8 per console platform) were selected from over 400 entries last week. Now, fans can watch some of the best Skater XL gamers in the world compete live for $500 in cash and prizes! It will all take place on a new map, which is available for all players to use themselves now, called Oshawa Arena. Originally created by modder Brookzee99, the Oshawa Arena map is inspired by real-world local skateparks from the Oshawa region in Ontario, Canada.
Check out the arena in the above trailer and make sure to get it set up on your platform. Skater XL and this new Oshawa Arena map are available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Now, let’s find out which eSport player will take the first place prize at this first eSport event!
