For The First Time Ever, The TEKKEN World Championship Is Leaving Japan For The United States
For the first time ever, the Tekken 7 World Championship is shipping out of Japan, and heading to the United States. November 12th, 16 of the world's best Tekken 7 players will meet up in San Francisco, California, to compete in a $50,000 prize pool to determine who is the best in the world.
The tourney will consist of the top 5 players from each region (Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific) and the Evo 2017 champion, Hyun-jin “JDCR” Kim.
The decision to bring the tournament to the United States is reportedly being made out of respect. The game has been out for nearly 2 years in arcades in Asia, but despite that, quite a few North American players have made a name for themselves since the game's Western release in June.
Sounds like more good news for America and eSports! Are you excited to see Tekken esports come to America?
