FORTNITE Continues To Dominate Twitch Viewership
Love it, hate it, or ignore it, there is no denying that Fortnite has been an absolute powerhouse since the debut of its BR mode. According to data compiled by GoldenCasinoNews, the Epic Games blockbuster had over 580 thousand streamers playing the game to a live audience on Twitch in the month of May making it the most popular game on the platform! In second place was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at 404 thousand streamers and Valorant took third at 385 thousand. To further back up its claim to the throne of Twitch, Fortnite has accrued over 122 million hours of watch time in the month of May with a peak viewership of 623 thousand people!
Absolutely insane numbers when you stop to think about it. Fortnite has enjoyed numerous updates and content add-ons since the introduction of its BR mode back in 2017. With the release of Chapter 2 and its new map, it seemed like the decline of Fortnite was finally underway. But as these new numbers show, the game is having a reemergence and hitting levels it hasn’t seen since January 2019. Almost 3 years on from release and nothing comes close to besting the behemoth that is Fortnite. It shouldn’t be underestimated the impact this game will have on gaming history and the lasting legacy it has already made, both good and bad.
What do you all think of Fortnite’s crazy streaming numbers?
