Gamescon Reveal Planned For THE PIRATE QUEEN: THE FORGTOTTEN LEGEND
History is a goldmine of stories and chances for exciting interactive experiences. It’s no surprise that many studios would go to that source for game inspiration. And then when transmedia works its way in, something truly unique is made. Ubisoft is the studio that has largely taken over that formula of history and multimedia, but they aren’t the only one doing it. Gamers will see an example of this at Gamescon with Singer Studios’ The Pirate Queen: The Forgotten Legend.
The game is based around Cheng Shih, a Chinese pirate who became one of the most famous swashbucklers in history. Her husband was the leader of the fleet and she had it all. He suddenly dies and her entire status is put at risk. She’ll have to outsmart her enemies and rise to become the scourge of the seven seas! Players will play through this virtual reality (VR) experience by solving puzzles to bring Cheng Shih to her rightful place as captain.
Singer Studios has plans to turn The Pirate Queen into a multimedia franchise with a podcast, TV show, and a graphic novel currently in the works.
The Pirate Queen: The Forgotten Legend will appear at Gamescon which occurs from August 23rd to August 27th.
