GHOST RECON: BREAKPOINT Officially Announced
Today we got some great news regarding the next Ghost Recon title, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint in the form of a trailer and gameplay walkthrough that you can watch below, as well as a description of the game. Observations that we made about the leak yesterday turned out to be true. It will be an open world map based in Auroa, home of the Silicon Valley Skell Technology. You will be able to explore on and off road, in the air, and the sea. You will be fighting the “Wolves”, an ex-US military unit gone rogue who share the same training and experience as you. They are led by your former teammate Colonel Cole D. Walker who is played by Jon Bernthal, a.k.a. The Punisher.
New mechanics add more challenges for you to tackle. Steep slopes, accumulating injuries and fatigue are only a few of the obstacles that you will face. You will be able to set up camps where you can manage your equipment, class, and weapons. If you get tagged up in battle, you will need to crawl to cover before you can attend to your injuries. The same goes for your teammate, if they go down you will need to carry them to a safe spot before they can be healed. The new mini-drone will allow you to sync shot several enemies, even while playing solo.
You get to play your way with thousands of customization combinations. Loot materials from the vast open world to craft upgrades for your gear and weapons to perfectly fit your playstyle. The all-new class system furthers your ability, even more, to play how you want. Get in the enemy’s face with the Assault class, keep your distance with the Sniper class, or get up close and personal using the shadows with the Panther class. This installment is the most social and provides the most end-game content yet. You can meet up with your buddies in the brand new social hub before getting your hands dirty in either the PvE or PvP modes, where your character progression is shared. The game will be updated with new content, including the brand new raid system, for years after launch providing endless replayability.
The game is slated for an October 4th release date. If you pre-order the game you will receive guaranteed access to the beta, which has not been given a release date yet. What do you think of the game now that we have seen gameplay? Will you be picking up Ghost Recon in October, or playing the Beta? Let me know in the comments!
