HONOR 7X May Be The Best Budget Smartphone For Gaming
In a press conference today, in preparation for CES 2018, Huawei announced a more detailed plan for the HONOR 7X. Beginning with the fact that it will be priced at $199.99. Not too shabby for a smartphone, but how smart is it? Lets take a closer look at the specs.
Specs

The phone definitely feels more sleek in person. The screen takes up majority of the phones face, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8. You wont find the same performance as the S8 though. Although this is not as powerful, the Kirin 659 should make up for the difference. They claim its an AI processor, that with time, will learn and adapt to your daily tasks. You'll find a Games Suite like the S8 as well. In fact, its basically an S8, minus all the bells and whistles.
Gaming on it shows just how capable this phone can be. Lets put it like this, if I had picked up the phone and played with it, not knowing the price or specs, I would assume it was worth a lot more. It is able to handle games like Arena of Valor and Vainglory, flawlessly. Although the Honor 7X will be focused on gaming, the larger focus is on the cameras. They demo'd some cool features, but the one that stood out the most, is something that isn't all that ground breaking.
They programmed the phone to auto rotate based on 2 factors, its position and where your face is. All those times you wanted to lay down and play a game in bed have been made even easier. This means when you lay down, you wont have to turn off auto rotate. The phone will recognize that your face is not viewing the display from a vertical position, and not rotate. Seriously, why haven't we thought of this before?
Focus of smartphones is slowly leaning to gaming, more and more. The release of the Razer phone is a great example. Amazing specs for optimal gaming. The Honor 7X will provide many people a gateway to mobile gaming without breaking the bank. There will be a special edition red version releasing on Valentines Day, globally. The US was not left off that list. In fact, the company has put a firm foot forward in catering to the US audience. It is more than welcome to be stateside! I'm always happy to have more options to choose from. It should also create more competition too.
What do you think about the Honor 7X? Will it succeed in the US? Should you just save your money and get a Razer phone instead? Are you happy to see a phone that is focused on the most frequently used features, or do you just want ALL THE SPECS?
