Horror Game THE MORTUARY ASSISTANT Shows How To Add Replayability Properly
When it comes to certain titles, they can hit a roadblock when it comes to considering replayability options. Horror games are pretty notorious for this as once you have beaten the game, you already know what is going to happen; for the most part, at least. Well, DarkStone Digital is back with a fresh update for their recent title The Mortuary Assistant, published by DreadXP, and with it comes what every gamer loves - replayability!
For those that have experienced this entertaining horror title already, you would know that this game already comes with multiple endings and what I have referred to as “natural jump scares.” Plus, they have participated in most of the holidays since launch, adding holiday-themed decorations and bodies to inspect. Now, they are here with an official update to version 1.2.0 and it adds a hearse-load of new content! Here's the rundown:
A new ending has been added to the game. What new secrets will you uncover at River Fields Mortuary?
Added new haunt events
Added three new bodies to embalm
A haunt aggressiveness slider that changes how frequently the player experiences haunt events has been added
These items together quite literally means that players can replay this game and experience a whole new series of scares (or less if they prefer)! Not just that, but more juicy details as to what is going on and a new ending that shines a certain character in a different light (no spoilers here)!
This game already has quite a lot going for it, especially since they are working on a live-action feature film for it, but now there is some serious replayability that the game didn’t have before. Free content updates like this is a great way to keep your game relevant and interesting for players! Hopefully, this is the kind of content we will see from more developers in the future.
The Mortuary Assistant, along with this new update, is now available on PC via Steam. You can check out the patch notes on this update here.
