Indie Game GONE HOME Is Heading To The Switch Soon

Five years after it was initially released, the hit indie-game Gone Home is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch later this month, publisher Annapurna Interactive announced yesterday.

Gone Home will be available on the Nintendo Switch on August 23. A Wii U port was initially planned back in 2014 but never came into fruition. However, the game was then released to other platforms such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and the latter even received a special Console Edition in 2016.

The indie-game served as the debut title for developer Fullbright as it influenced the story-driven adventure game genre. The title’s unique visuals and deeply immersive story were the factors that drove it to success and helped secure Fullbright’s place in indie-game development.

Gone Home is a first-person exploratory game that puts players in the role of a woman making her way home only to find her house empty and her family missing. The game was commended for addressing LGBT issues and allowing players to explore and discover its secrets on their own pace.

The game’s release on the Nintendo Switch aims to introduce Gone Home to an even wider audience who missed out on its previous release on the PC and other consoles.

Gone Home is now available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version of the game is scheduled to release on August 23, 2018.
