After Radio Silence We Now Have A Gameplay Trailer For LEGO STAR WARS: THE SKYWALKER SAGA

After a long period of quietness surrounding LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga game, we have finally gotten to see something new! A gameplay trailer was revealed over the weekend during Gamescom 2020. In it, we get to see iconic scenes from the Skywalker saga redone in the LEGO style. While this may not sound like anything new, it looks like we’re getting more than just a retread of what they have done with the series in the past.

This new entry into the series not only covers what we’ve seen before but fills in the spaces that may have been overlooked. After a long wait, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker films are getting the LEGO treatment and they look fantastic. The most noticeable things to me though were how the prequels and original trilogies are being handled. New scenes and game mechanics are making their way into these older trilogies to bring them up to current Lego game standards.

Obi-Wan and General Grievous’ fight are highlighted, along with Luke’s Stormtrooper blasting spree following Obi-Wan’s death on the Death Star. It seems the scene with Luke will use the shooter aspects that have been used in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The game does not have a solid release date but is slated for early 2021 and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
