I missed the announcement for Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit during Gamescom 2020, but I’m excited about this indie stealth action game. The trailer will share some of the game’s story, but the developer has recently released his speedrun of the demo, which features four levels and showcases the stealth mechanics that players will be able to utilize throughout Wonhon.

It’s a pretty tragic story with the Korean protagonist suffering a painful death during an attack on her village. With her family dead and all hope lost, she makes a deal with Jeoseung Saja, the God of Death, which imbues her with supernatural abilities. She can now shift into a ghost form and possess living creatures, and the story seems to follow her path of violent reprisal.

I'm always interested in stealth games, but this definitely would be a new subgenre for me—vengeful spirits are not the typical assassin that I control, so it will be fascinating to explore this world.

Players will have to balance subtle movement and patience with bloody spurts of violence as you possess soldiers and animals to enact your gruesome revenge. But the Korean heroine has already died once. What more can these people do to her?
