During the Summer Games Fest Livestream, the newest tactical game from X-COM developer Firaxis Games and 2K was given a release date! Marvel’s Midnight Suns is the upcoming tactical RPG set in the Marvel universe.
Based on the similarly named “Midnight Sons” team of the same name from the comics series, Marvel’s Midnight Suns seems to be focusing on the more supernatural side of its universe. After long centuries asleep, the villainous organization HYDRA has resurrected Lilith, the so-called Mother of Demons. As her horde strikes at the forces of Earth, the new player-controlled hero The Hunter will enlist the help of heroes from across the Marvel universe to put an end to Lilith’s plans.
Don’t think that this is just X-COM with a coat of Marvel paint on it, though. Midnight Suns promises an expansive roster of well-known, and some lesser-known, Marvel characters, but the customization options for The Hunter are downright astounding. Players will be able to customize their hero’s appearance and pick from over 40 different powers.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns releases October 7th for PC via Steam and Epic Games, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Sound off in the comments!
