Mercy of the Icons Campaign Module Concludes In CORIOLIS: THE THIRD HORIZON
Swedish RPG creator Free League Publishing has announced the release of the second part in the Mercy of the Icons campaign module for Coriolis - The Third Horizon. The space adventure is continuing on from the Emissary Lost volume and concludes with The Last Cyclade.
What awaits the intrepid space adventurers who dare to open this tome of void travel and dark portents?
Far above in the darkness of space, a lone ship waits to enter the portal. Its crew stands ready to complete their mission: to reach the ghost ship Zafira and be the first to unveil the truth behind one of the horizon's most ominous mysteries...
Coriolis – The Third Horizon is an award-winning roleplaying game, so I’m sure this narrative conclusion will be satisfying for the RPG players who embark on the second part of the campaign. The 240-page hardcover campaign volume contains two new adventures for players to sink their sci-fi teeth into.
The Uharan Echo and In the Shadow of the Zenith will test an adventuring group with new obstacles, as well as introduce four locations that have yet to be seen in the Coriolis universe. For the DM, it’s also got mission generator tables to create custom adventures and in-depth background information that will really help the world-building and storytelling component of the RPG.
If you want to dip your toe into the bone-chilling waters of this immersive sci-fi experience, Free League has a Coriolis: The Third Horizon Quickstart PDF that’s available for free and it provides that window into the game world you might want—the one-shot adventure Dark Flowers acts as a nice tutorial as well.
Free League Publishing acquired the rights to Coriolis at the beginning of the year and they’ve really pushed out some good content since then.
For gamers interested, check out the quickstart PDF. It’s a good introduction. The other RPGs from Free League are also excellent, so you really can’t go wrong.
