METAL GEAR SURVIVE Gets Open Beta Announced With New Commentary Trailer
Despite the loss of Kojima, Konami has continued to create a game within the Metal Gear series. Their upcoming title, Metal Gear Survive, is planned to launch in February of 2018, but you'll be able to play it sooner since they recently announced an open beta. The beta will be available from January 18th to January 21st on both Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Let's take a second to put aside any of the mixed feelings we have about this upcoming title and learn a bit about it with the latest Single Player Commentary Trailer:
After watching this, I am still unsure how I feel about the rather absurd story they are giving the game. A wormhole opening up, somehow your guy survives, and then later he is teleported to a parallel universe? I don't know, it just doesn't fit the Metal Gear series in any way and seems to be an interesting story that takes place in the wrong universe. That's why he was teleported to a parallel one, right? No, that doesn't excuse it, because the source of what got him there is within the Metal Gear universe. However, I can't be sure how I feel about it without giving it a shot - to be fair.
The gameplay shown wasn't too surprising since they have shown gameplay before, but it was good to see some of the survival aspects to the game rather than just seeing the multiple enemies and combat style. They did pretty well to keep the gameplay style similar to that of Metal Gear Solid V and should be fun to play, regardless of a questionable story.
What are your thoughts on Metal Gear Survive after seeing this commentary trailer? Do you plan to give the open beta a chance to impress?
