More EA Titles Are Heading To Steam!

Remember when the only real viable digital storefront for PC gaming was Steam and then a bunch of other companies decided to strike out on their own to give it a shot for themselves? The success of these ventures can be questioned from here till eternity but one thing that has always seemed to annoy people is exclusivity. EA Games has long released its titles exclusively on its own digital storefront, Origin, and now it would appear that trend is changing!

It began with last year’s release of Jedi: Fallen Order. It was announced that the Respawn developed title would hit Steam simultaneously with its Origin release with more EA games to follow in 2020. A number of titles have begun to filter into the Steam library over the last few weeks including the amazing Command & Conquer Remastered Collection, which has already become a top seller on the platform! Today more titles have been added to Steam.

Battlefield 3 was the first title in the long-running series to be released only on Origin with its sequels to follow suit. Now Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield 1, and Battlefield V are all available to purchase on Steam! Even better is all the Battlefield titles, aside from Battlefield V, will include all of their expansion content in the base purchase. DICE’s Battlefront games are also available at a nice discount. but that’s not all, Mass Effect fans can finally add Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect Andromeda to their Steam libraries! Now a good majority of these games will still need a version of Origin to run in the background for multiplayer services to function so the service isn’t going away anytime soon.

What do you all think of EA beginning to release its titles on Steam once again?
