NECROMUNDA UNDERHIVE WARS Tactical Skirmish Game Finally Gets Release Date!
After being announced in 2017, Necromunda Underhive Wars went under the radar for a while. It resurfaced months later with a 2019 release date before going silent again for over a year. Months ago, the game published by Focus Home Interactive and designed by Rogue Factor resurfaced with a fall 2020 release date. Fans still unsure of the outcome were speculating the game might never be released because of the lack of information and the website still announcing a 2019 release in 2020. Well, just this week, their dreams turned into reality when the game was announced for release on September 8, in less than a month’s time. What a turnaround! So people get ready for first video game adaptation of the mythical tabletop game Necromunda, the most famous Hive World of Warhammer 40,000.
I have been on the lookout for this game and have to admit, after seeing the latest trailer which included some game play, I was very impressed. The game footage is slick and from the bit of in-game footage they released, the game play looks promising. Necromunda will include three gangs of Escher, Goliath and Orlock. with five members each including classes such as Deadeye, Brawler, heavy, Saboteur and Lay Mechanic, each with their own skill-set, specific stats and bonuses. Once you’ve changed their load-out, upgraded their stats, you can send them into battle as they invade the polluted hive cities of Necromunda which house twisted, whirling, somber tunnels. Once there, rival gangs will fight you for personal power, wealth, survival and for the honor of their houses.
The game includes a rich 15-mission campaign narrative, skirmish mode, solo play, 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 modes as well as 4 player online gang fights. Gang members will learn new skills, loot equipment and develop as a gang. We know Rogue Factor for making tough games such as Mordheim; City of the Damned. However, I heard through the walls of the underhive that Necromunda will be a little more forgiving. I find that hard to believe but at least the game is finally releasing.
Folks, welcome to the Underhive!
