Did you like Left 4 Dead? The Zombie shooter was one of the biggest zombie franchises back in the Xbox 360 days and pitted 4 survivors against hoards of the undead. The company behind the highly successful franchise Turtle Rock Studios left Valve after the release of Left 4 Dead 2 and moved on to create the Heroes vs Monster shooter Evolve for 2K. In 2016 Turtle Rock’s contract for the game expired and they moved on to new projects.

Today Turtle Rock Studios has announced they intend to make a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead franchise in the form of Back 4 Blood! According to publisher Warner Bros. Back 4 Blood “marries the best of what made the co-op zombie shooter so successful with new features and state-of-the-art technology.” Not much else is know about the game at this time but Turtle Rock also published the following statement in their official FAQ about the game. “You’ll be able to shoot up a lot of zombies like in Left 4 Dead, but there’s a whole lot of new stuff in Back 4 Blood which makes it unique.”

Either way I will be excited to see what Turtle Rock will bring to the table as I am sure many Left 4 Dead fans are.
