A new sci-fi shooter from Private Division and V1 Interactive named Disintegration has been announced. Disintegration takes place in the not so distant future where humankind is on the verge of eradication. To stave off extinction, human kind begins turning to technology to survive. through this process a new superpower comes into being and begins to enslave the what remains of humanity. The game is being developed by V1 interactive, a studio made up of 30+ industry veterans. Led by Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the Halo franchise and former creative director at Bungie, the studio looks to change up the norms of a sci-fi shooter.

Disintegration will feature a full campaign having players will assume the role of Romer Shoal, an expert Gravcycle pilot and commander of a small group of fighters. The story plays out from Shoal’s perspective as he fights and leads his team to save what remains of humanity.

Disintegration will also feature 3 different multiplayer modes at launch and is expected to come with a variety of maps for each. Matches will all be squad based with 3 players assuming ground roles while one player will be in a Gravcycle. Different squads can be chosen each with varying loadouts. sadly no further information has been given at this time. Disintegration is expected to launch digitally for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2020 at a price of $49.99.

The premise behind Disintegration looks intriguing and the squad based mechanics while being in the air look like they have real potential. The pedigree behind V1 Interactive is also very promising with loads of roots in the sci-fi shooter space. This is definitely one I will personally be keeping a close eye on in the coming months!
