Nightwing And Redhood Take Center Stage In The New Gameplay Demo For GOTHAM KNIGHTS
With its release date rapidly approaching, we got yet another taste of WB Games Montréal’s Gotham Knights and its varied hero-centric gameplay during their special presentation yesterday. Set up as a “gameplay demo”, the presentation highlighted how the playable heroes of Nightwing and Redhood operate in Gotham City, from their distinct combat style to the way they traverse the city.
The demo does a pretty great job at showing off the difference in how these two characters play. Nightwing’s combat is heavily acrobatic, the way we typically see the character. High-flying kicks and flips are strung together to create some really cinematic fights. When it comes to getting around Gotham, his glider is there to take him wherever he needs to go.
Redhood on the other hand, his combat is heavily focused on marksmanship with his dual-pistols. It’s a pretty drastic shift from Nightwing and very visibly shows how the game can be played in many ways. Redhood gets around the city thanks to his powerful leaping ability, allowing him the freedom of not having to rely on gadgets in these types of instances.
The game is available to pre-order with the standard version priced at $69.99. Players looking to enhance their experience can purchase Gotham Knights Deluxe Edition for $89.99, which includes the game and the Visionary Pack DLC that contains: exclusive gear, cosmetics, Batman Beyond-inspired skins for the Knights, and more!
If you’re a die-hard though, there’s also the Collector's Edition which includes not only everything I’ve already highlighted but also an augmented reality collectible pin, a 16-page media book, an exclusive Gotham City map, a four-character statue diorama, and more. Additionally, pre-ordering any version of the game will grant players access to the 233 Kustom Batcycle Skin at launch.
Gotham Knights releases on October 25th, 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC but will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles due to a change in development.
