Nintendo Switch Update Fixes Motion Control Issues
Nintendo recently released a minor firmware update for the Switch in an attempt to address several issues revolving around motion controls and user icons.
Firmware version 5.0.2 for the Nintendo Switch, which was released a few days ago, introduces a “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience,” according to the patch notes posted on Nintendo’s website. That same exact sentence has repeatedly been used on the Switch's previous patches.
However, Nintendo provided a short and general detail of the patch. Below are the full patch notes for Switch firmware version 5.0.2:
- Resolved an issue that caused motion controls to respond incorrectly when playing games that use the feature
- Resolved an issue that caused user icons for recommended friends to not display correctly
Personally, I haven’t encountered any problems with motion controls on the Switch and Nintendo did not disclose which specific games were affected by the motion control issue. However, if you’ve been experiencing problems, you can download the v5.0.2 update and see if the update will be able to fix it.
